Here is advice on creating a secure password:
Please login and go to your account/edit page.
If you have forgotten your password, please go to the member login page and towards the bottom there is a button 'GO' link. Please click or tap the link to access a temporary login link. You will then need to input your username or email address associated with the site. You will then be sent the link to your email address.
If you click the link in the email you should be taken to your account where you must input your password immediately and save page before navigating around the site.
The password will have to be a minimum length of 10 Alpha-numerical characters containing a minimum of the following:
- Two capital letters.
- Three lower case letters.
- Two digits (numbers).
- One punctuation character (can be any of the following: , . / ; ' # < > ? : @ ! " £ % ^ & *).
If you submit a password that does not meet the requirements there will be a helpful message telling you what you are missing and what to add.
If you continue to have problems, please contact the Website manager for assistance via the 'Contact' button above in the main menu.
When you have inputted your password you need to tick the box 'I'm not a robot' and wait for it the tick to complete or you will be asked to select certain squares from a photo that contain a certain item that it asks for. Once that has completed (It can take a few seconds to complete) please then click the 'Login' box below to login (If using mobile device, It is advised to enlarge the image with the squares to see it clearer, using your forefinger and thumb).
If you are still having problems, please contact the Website Manager using the 'Contact' button above in the main menu with as much detailed information as possible about which part of the process you are having problems with and explain what type of computer are you using to access our website (Laptop/desktop, tablet or mobile/cell phone etc)?
If you get a 'Oops! We seem to have a problem...' message when you log in or nothing you do seems to work, you should clear your internet files and cookies - your internet browser may be 'remembering' incorrect details. See THIS PAGE for instructions.

Some users with Internet Explorer version 6 have experienced problems with the username box not accepting input. IE6 is now an outdated browser and the problems disappear if you upgrade. Changing to Firefox is recommended - it is available as a free download HERE .
If you forget your password there is a facility to request a temporary login where you can change your password. Click the button to get a temporary login link 'GO' under the login box on the member login page. You will be sent a link that will give you temporary access - you must set up your own password immediately before navigating around your account, or you will need to request another temporary login to change your password. Note that the temporary link expires after 1 day.
To register/subscribe on the site, your email address must not have been used already on the site.
Your email address will not be visible to other users and not shared with a 3rd party in accordance with EU data protection legislation.
If you have uploaded an image but it will not display, it is usually because the file name contains illegal characters. You will need to rename the file using only Aa-Zz, 0-9 characters and upload it again. Please note the photo must be under 2Mb in size.
When in your Host or WWOOFer profile edit form, click on the 'Browse' button. This will open a window showing files on your computer. Navigate to the image you want to upload. Select the image ('open' in Windows) and then click 'Upload' in your profile form. Wait for the image to upload. It will be resized to fit on the site, but your original will be untouched. Please note that you must then save the page before navigating away or your upload will be lost.
Please then check your photogragh has the correct orientation. A common problem now with photograghs taken with mobile/cell phones is that they display on their side. If this happens you will need to use some image manipulation software to orientate them correctly then to upload them again to your profile. A good open source software for this operation is Gimp
Image file size
There is a maximum limit of 2 megabytes for uploads but images will be automatically re-sized to much smaller than this (your original will not be altered). If you have a slow connection and need to make your picture smaller, try one of these methods:

Please click on the link 'JOIN AS A HOST' in the right hand menu on the front page to subscribe as a Host.
You will then be asked to read the 'Before you start' page, then by clicking the blue button 'NEXT' you will see the Host commitment. Please read this carefully and then click the blue button 'YES - I AGREE'
You will then be asked to choose which Payment method you require. You can choose to pay online using Visa, Mastercard credit and debit cards or by post.
If you choose the online payment option, you will then be taken to the checkout page where you can make a payment. We use a secure payment processing system (Stripe)
Then select which payment method you require. If you choose online payment you will be directed to a form which you must create a username and supply us with a valid email address you wish to be used on the site. You will then be directed to the checkout page where you will you will be asked to enter your full card details and the address associated with the card. Once your payment has been made you will then be directed to a page thanking you for your payment and with further information on what to do next.
If you choose the postal option, please click on the link and you will then see a form to fill in, print and send with the payment to WWOOF Ireland CLG, Milbeg, Coomhola, Bantry, Co Cork, Ireland.
You will have received a renewal reminder email 14 days prior to your membership expiry. There will be a link in the email to renew your membership or please log in to your account on our website and go to your membership tab on your host home page accessible from the drop down menu top right of page and click the 'Renew' link that will be on the right.
You will then be directed to the new secure checkout page where you need to input your Visa, Mastercard credit or debit card information and address associated with that card exactly as it appears on your statement.

If you have an existing postal membership and wish to change to an on-line annual membership, please contact the website manager to change the membership, then you will be able to renew online using a Visa, Mastercard credit or debit card.
Sometimes when this error occurs, you may just need to log in again.
There are a few things to check to make sure you're doing it correctly. The problem accessing the WWOOFer profiles is usually browser related. Make sure you are still logged in to the site.
- Make sure you are logged into the site in a tab on your internet browser (Firefox, Opera, Safari, Internet Explorer etc). Please note that if you are inactive for a while the site will sometimes automatically log you out, this tends to happen when the site is busy to save bandwidth and you will have to log back in.
- Open another tab on your browser (not another window) with your email provider (gogglemail, yahoo etc)
- Make sure you have your cookies enabled in your browser...this is important as you will always get the 'Oops' page if not. If you need help to do this please follow these instructions HERE depending on which browser you use.
We recommend Firefox as it performs well with the sites software. (in the latest version of firefox you go to: Edit >> Preferences>> Privacy... Click the drop down menu 'Remember history' and select 'Use custom settings for history' then make sure the 'Accept cookies from sites' is ticked, then close)
- Clear your browser cache. See HERE for instructions for different browsers. Please note you sometimes have to clear your browser cache a few times for it to be effective.
Now please try those links again now or copy them into your browser address bar on new tab on your browser (not new window)
Also you can access the WWOOFers profile from their username which appears in the email. Copy the username and then go to your dropdown menu (with your usename on) top right of site, and click 'WWOOFer search' and paste the username there and click 'Search' and you will then see a link below to the user profile. You can also select to search by the WWOOFers email.
If you are still getting the 'Ooops!' error message, it is possible that the WWOOFer has yet to create their profile, and you should not be able to see their profile by design. WWOOFers are told not to contact hosts before they have created their profile, and may be banned if they do. You are advised not to offer a place to WWOOFers with no profile because there will be no contact information available. It is better to reply with a request to provide information before they can be considered for a place. We would also appreciate if you could alert the website manager using the contact page so we can take action where necessary if the WWOOFers profile is incomplete.
You should not offer a place to a WWOOFer with no profile because they have not provided any contact details and cannot be traced. WWOOFers are reminded to create their profile every time they log in, so have ignored these reminders. We would appreciate if you could alert the website manager using the contact tab on the website if you receive an application from a WWOOFer who has an incomplete profile so we can contact the volunteer.
When subscribed WWOOFers search the 'List of Hosts', they can 'bookmark' your profile page and can contact you using the 'Contact' button under your profile. (The button is not shown if you have switched off e-mail contact).
From the contact button, WWOOFers write a short message and send it to you via the WWOOF Ireland site. Your e-mail address is not revealed. When you receive the message, you can view the WWOOFer's profile from a link in the message once you have logged in to the site.
You then reply to the WWOOFer with a normal e-mail. (At this stage, of course, your e-mail address will be sent to the WWOOFer).
Postal and telephone contact
In your profile, you can select to show or hide your telephone number. Your address will always be shown to subscribed WWOOFers. If you do not want contact by post, you can say so in the 'Other Information' box in your profile.
How do I create my Host Information?
When you have subscribed as a WWOOF Ireland Host, log into the site and go to your host home page 'dash board'. Click the red button 'Please Create your Profile'. This will take you to the form to be completed. Once some information has been entered, the Host Information also becomes available from the button 'My Host Profile'. You can edit your Host Information whenever you wish by going to the edit tab.
Note that WWOOF Ireland administrators are informed whenever members update their information, as a security measure. If any information is considered to be inappropriate, it may be removed and you will be informed. If you have any problems with the process, please do contact us via the 'Contact' link at the top of every page.
How much is the subscription as a WWOOF Ireland Host?
The subscription is 40 euro for 1 year.
Please click on the link 'JOIN AS A VOLUNTEER' in the right hand menu on the front page to subscribe as a WWOOFer volunteer.
You will then be asked to read the 'Before you start' page, then by clicking the blue button 'NEXT' you will see the WWOOFer commitment. Please read this carefully and then click the blue button 'YES - I AGREE'. There are translations in French, Spanish and German, please click the flag.
You will then be asked to choose which subscription you require. You can choose a single or joint/family membership.
Then select which membership you method you require. There are two memberships: Single WWOOFer membership for 25 Euro or joint membership for two people or family travelling together and sharing accommodation for 35 Euro.
You will then be asked to choose which Payment method you require. You can choose to pay online using Visa and Mastercard credit and debit cards or by post.

Go to the host's page and click the 'Leave feedback' button.
You can leave feedback to be seen by everyone, or you can report an issue or make a complaint to be seen only by the WWOOF Ireland team by clicking that section of the form. Complaints should be related to one of the areas of the 'host commitment' that all hosts agree to.
Yes - but you must WWOOF together and expect to share a room or other accommodation. You must take the '2 person joint WWOOFer or family' membership which costs 35 euro. We define a family as a family unit with children up to18 years old.
It is also possible to add a third member to a joint account. We don't recommend this as many host will not be able to accommodate you. If you must stay together, subscribe to a joint account and a single account. Contact us with names of both accounts and the email addresses and we will join them so they both appear on the joint profile page.
You will be sent a short email message 14 days before the subscription ends. When it has ended, you will see a message when you next log in to WWOOF Ireland. Not all facilities will be available until you re-subscribe, using Stripe our secure payment processing system or by post. You can renew up to 21 days before your membership expires, you will see a renew link on your membership page accessible from your WWOOFer dashboard. Your WWOOFer information will not be lost and will be available again once you have re-subscribed.
We will remove all your information permanently if you do not re-subscribe after 30 days, or earlier if you contact us.
YES! You are responsible for arranging your own health and travel insurance. Please see HERE for details to purchase travel insurance. WWOOFer Personal Accident and Liability Insurance is included in the membership subscription, please see 'WWOOFer Personal Accident and Liability Insurance' below in Help section for more details.
There is a 'Email Host' button on the host's home page. If it is not working and you get the 'Oops' page, the host does not want e-mail contact so you must write or telephone.
From the 'Email Host' button, you can write a short message. It is a good idea to include the dates when you are available, and any information that is not already in your profile. When the host receives the message, they will be able to view your profile on this site and reply to you.
Yes, you should have enough money to support yourself if necessary in case there is a problem and the host cannot host you.
You should also have enough pocket money for food, drinks and accommodation for trips away from the farm on days off.

If you have a passport from a country in the EEA (European Economic Area), you do not need a visa to enter Ireland.
If you have a passport from a non-EEA country, you MUST investigate entry requirements. A visa is not required from many countries but there are other requirements which are described HERE
Please go to your WWOOFer home page and click blue button 'Create an Immigration ID'. Complete the details and save the form - You can add as many hosts as you need for your time in Ireland and add the dates using the pop-up calender. To access your ID form, go to your drop down menu top right of site (blue button) and click 'My Immigration ID' link. To print form please click blue button at bottom of ID form 'Print this page'. Please ensure you have printed and are carrying a hard copy of your Immigration ID to show to customs officials at your point of entry into Ireland.
The UK has recently changed its attitude towards volunteer schemes and this may affect some WWOOFers traveling via the UK.
If you are NOT from a Europen country (The USA for example) and are traveling to Ireland via the UK, you should contact us well before your departure date for advice about entry requirements. This applies even if you are only transferring between flights at a UK airport, including Belfast.
If you are intending to travel between Ireland and Northern Ireland (part of the UK) for a WWOOFing placement, you should also contact us for advice.
Remember that there is a border between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland which is part of the UK. If you are from outside the EEA and intend to leave Ireland for Northern Ireland and the UK, you must be sure to check the entry rules. There are also rules about re-entering Ireland from Northern Ireland and the UK. More information about re-entry is available HERE
If you are from a non-EEA country, even if you do not need a visa, you may be asked to show where you will be staying while in Ireland. You should have details of hosts you have made arrangements with, including verifiable contact details.
You can print an ID document from your profile. Edit your profile and open the 'Immigration ID' section and complete the form. A new link will appear in your profile which only you can see; click that link and a page ready for printing will be created.
Even if you do not need a visa, if you are from outside the EEA, you may be asked to show evidence of travel arrangements to leave Ireland within the time allowed, which is usually 90 days. This would normally be a valid ticket.
Even if you do not need a visa, if you are from outside the EEA, you may be asked to show evidence of having 'sufficient funds' for your stay in Ireland. There is no fixed definition of 'sufficient funds'. As WWOOFers will not be paying for accomodation the level of funding required may be less than for a tourist. You may still need to show that you can support yourself for the duration of your stay, if you have to leave a host earlier than planned.
You will need to have enough cash or an original bank statement with a card to access the account.
If you have a non-EEA passport, even if you do not need a visa, you may be asked to give:
- Evidence of sufficient funds to support yourself
- Evidence of valid travel arrangements to leave Ireland
- Evidence of where you will be staying and what you will be doing (Please use the Immigration ID form facility on your WWOOFer homepage)
- Evidence of Health insurance that includes cover for a hospital stay
