Hello there!
I will be arriving in Ireland next Wednesday from the U.S. and plan on staying for 2 months. I am planning on having with me my passport, proof of insurance, bank statement to prrove I have sufficient funds, Proof of insurance, a self-made itinerary and printed confirmation emails from my hosts. Is there anything else I will need?
Thanks, Maureen

Hey Maureen - there's a chance we'll be on the same flight! Are you flying into Shannon or Dublin?
Either way, you have more than enough already put together to get into the country. Unless things have changed, the last time I went wwoofing there (about 4 years ago) I simply told them I was there on holiday and that I wanted to stay for 2 months. They stamped my passport as such. The only reason you'd need to show bank statements, insurance, letters from farms, etc, is if you were requesting to stay longer than a 3 month travel stamp allows. A typical passport stamp will give you up to three months in the country - it's always up to immigration to decide, but just tell them the date you plan to leave and they'll write in enough time for you to get home.
Hope you have a great time!! I'm happy to chat if you have any other questions...

Thanks for the correction, Peter!
I admit that in the dozen or so times I've been over in the last few years, I've never been asked anything other than how long I intended to stay....but, will certainly be better prepared this time, just in case!
cheers,
Keri

On a related note--I will be leaving for Ireland in 4 days, and I also have all of the necessary paperwork ready to go--I will be staying for 6 weeks. However, I have a question on what to tell the officers at the point of entry, regarding the purpose of my stay. On this website, I saw that it says we are to be honest about wwoofing and show our passport and wwoofing documentation. Yet, I just called an Irish embassy here in the U.S. and the person there said I should just tell them I am staying with friends. What should I do? Is every official at the point of entry familiar with wwoofing? I sure hope so! Thanks in advance for your help and advice.
