My friend Peter and I are looking to Wwoof this summer, and I had a question about insurance. We are coming from Canada, but as I am Irish born and Peter Polish born, we both have EU citizenship. Does this mean we have to get Canadian insurance or can we qualify for the European Union one?

Not sure what you mean by the 'European Union' one. If you are referring to the European Health Insurance Card, this is normally obtained from the EU country in which you are resident. As far as I understand it, this is nothing to do with citizenship - it is related to where you pay your health insurance costs through a taxation system within the EU.

The European Health card only covers reciprocal health care from the public health systems in the EU. The OVEuropa policy covers much more than that, and is what you need.
