When you receive a request for a placement from a WWOOFer, there will be a link to their profile in the message. Remember to log into the site to see the details in their profile.

We do remind newly subscribed WWOOFers to complete their profile and after two weeks their account may be suspended until they do. Some WWOOFers may contact hosts before they have created their WWOOFer profile. The profile will contain extra compulsory details such as postal address etc. as well as their 'public' information.  If you get a request from a WWOOFer with no profile, you should ask them to complete it before you offer them a placement.

When you reply to a WWOOFer, you should use your own email, not the contact link on their profile page. It also helps them if you can include the address of your host information page. This can be found by viewing your own host information page (not the form) and copying its address from your browser address bar. It should look like:  http://www.wwoof.ie/node/#  (where the '#' is a number).

It is advisable to tell WWOOFers that they must reply within a certain time if they want to accept the offer of a placement, and also to reply even if they do not want it.

I am a new host and I wonder why we should not use the Contact button on the wwoofer's profile? Why is it there if not to use? Also, I have already contacted wwoofers via this Contact button so does that mean that they have not received my messages?

While I am here, I was very suprised to receive a letter from a French wwoofer requesting a place - how did he get my private details - I thought privacy was to be respected and he was to contact me via the site via email?

Thanks Peter, I think I have the hang of it now.
