Windy Hill Farm We have a small farm with a variety of animals. Cows, horses, donkeys, sheep, hen and ducks, cats and dogs. Pakie, my husband, looks after the farm. I bake for Farmer's Markets, specializing in dietary goodies. Besides that I grow fruit and vegetables for our own use. At the moment I am working on creating a small petfarm, especially for children with special needs with a focus on autism and/or related disorders.
Pakie is doing up an old stone shed (new roof, badly needed), and would like to transform it into a place where you can live.
We would like to meet wwoofers who have an interest in animals, gardening (planting, sowing, weeding,I also like to create a permaculture garden complete with pond). Also people with experience and/or enthousiasm for building.
We provide a caravan, bedlinnen and towels. A diet is no problem, although I don't have much experience with a vegan diet. Work is weather dependant, so it can happen that you have a day(s) of during the week and will be asked to help out in the weekend. However, we always try to keep weekends free, so you can go out yourself or we tour you around!
We hope to meet you soon!! |

Barrtra We are a small award-winning restaurant 3km. south of Lahinch on the N67.
We have been growing our own vegetables for about 10 years. These include potatoes, cabbage, chard, kale, lettuce, tomatoes, courgettes, beetroot, various herbs etc. Wwoofers work 5 hours a day for 5 days. The town of Lahinch is a famous surfing spot and Clare is also famous for it's music. We are also just south of the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher - 2 fantastic tourist attractions.
Accommodation will be in our attic or a caravan in the garden. It can be very busy here during the summer months and wwoofers can help in the restaurant - cleaning, painting etc. in addition to gardening. |

Cahergal Farm We run a mixed farm consisting of suckler cows, sheep, horses and chickens. Our calving period for the cows is typically from January to April, the sheep will have their lambs during this time also. The farmyard is a hive of activity during these months. We have up to 12 horses on the farm which keeps us busy with exercising them. Michael is a qualified instructor so he will be happy to give lessons if needs be. Our 14 chickens provide eggs for our breakfast and Noreen's baking so must be well looked after!! Anyone who likes animals and would be interested in helping out on the farm would be more than welcome.
During the March to November months we run a B&B from our home. We are located only 10 minutes from Shannon Airport so can have a wide range of nationalities passing through our doors. During the summer months we also grow a variety of veg and herbs in our kitchen garden and provide horse riding lessons for guests. If you are an outgoing person and feel you could pitch in with these various tasks, again we would be delighted to have you stay with us. |
