We will respond to all wwoof queries sometimes it takes a few days to get onto the computer but if you don't hear from us write again! The Farm is on the developed east coast of Ireland. Carraig Dúlra is an organic smallholding with a slower pace. We maintain our connection with the natural world in structured and unstructured ways, while exploring organic growing, permaculture, heritage skills and the arts. In 2009 we also set up the OOOOBY Community Food Store, located in the village nearby. Our focus at the farm is developing the land as we do not live there yet. We live near by and camp sometimes in the summer. We host courses and events throughout the season. At the community food store, we sell produce from local & fairtrade food & craft, and host community group meetings such as Grow It Yourself and a Crafts Circle. We grow annual vegetables, herbs and fruit, and keep bees. WWOOFer activities may include work in the garden areas, lots of digging and weeding but also variety with on farm projects (water systems, simple construction projects etc), assisting us on days when we are running courses or events, and helping out in the community food store.

Knockanode House,

Knockanode is located in the Vale of Avoca. It is very scenic area but close to pub and 30 mins walking distance to shops. The land is a small holding and is on several different levels. There is woodland in need of attention. There are lots of outhouses in varying degrees of renovation for future use as Holistic Therapy rooms. The gardens have organic soil as chemicals have never been used. And we hope to grow organic vegetables for our own use. We need help with establishing the garden, preparing the soil, strimming, weeding, planting, assisting with building, carpentry, painting work and general restoration work, and odd jobs around the house including cutting wood for the fire and some cooking skills. We are a young couple with two small children. Our aim is to become self sufficient in the near future. We are very dedicated and enthusiastic about our work, and expect Woofers to also be interested in the work and dedicated with the aim of getting satisfaction out of all our combined efforts. Thank you for reading.

Image uploaded by user Greenan Farm Museums & Maze

We are a family run, tourist farm which includes two mazes, three museums including a traditional farmhouse museum, bottle museum and farm barn with horse drawn implements, nature walk, conservation areas, woodland, tea-rooms, craft-shop. Farm animals include bronze turkeys, rare breed hens and chicks, ducks, three pigs, sheep, lambs, and two donkeys. The small veggie patch is tended organically and encourages visitors to grow their own. Most of the buildings on the farm were renovated or constructed by Will and his father, either using recycled materials or locally sourced wood, where possible. Our family strives to follow a sustainable and earth-friendly ethos as much as we can. Volunteers who come to our farm must be flexible and would be asked to help with maintenance work, on the farm, in the museums, on the veggie patch, in the poly-tunnel or the family gardens. Tasks are extremely varied. ALSO we are looking for a person who would help mind the children and do some light house work on a longer term basis - maybe for a 3 month stint. Anyone interested in that position should email Anita as soon as possible.

We are a family of 5 with 3 small kids, a cat and a dog, and hens and ducks in the pond. We live in a old stone farm house, restored, ecologically, in the wicklow hills with walks and rivers for swimming in, close by. One room for a single woofer or 2 who are willing to share. And in warmer months a campervan. It is our third year growing in our vegatable patch and polytunnel and we are still expanding it with an aim to be self sufficient in fruit and veg (as much as possible) and we are planting a fruit garden at the moment. Work will involve bed contruction, digging, soil preparation, sowing, planting, support structure for veg and more. We can pick up from the nearest train or bus stations.
